What is multimedia poetry?

Multimedia poetry, also known as video-poems, cine-poetry, or poetry films is a mixed media format in which poem, image and sound interact symbiotically. Also, it is sometimes text that is written on the screen, or text that is simply interpreted by the visual artist with imagery and music. It is the perfect combination of image and word that takes cinema and poetry to a brave new threshold. The visual images often deepen the author's meaning, provide startling contrast, or locate new alliances within the inherent metaphors of the poet's text. Stills, animation, computer graphics, and filmed imagery, can all broaden and enhance the experience of the listener/viewer. With the addition of music or other complementary sounds, the result is a striking and welcome alternative to traditional poetry recitals.

Why I need You (my poem)

You are the sunrise

That wakes me up

In the morning.

Your eyes are the sunlight

That brightens

My day.

Sun sets

When your eyes

Leave me.

Just like air,

You are always present,

You are essential.

You are like the wind,

Pushing me

Further on.

I need you

Like a body needs a soul,

I need you

Like flowers needs the rain,

I need you

Like a lighthouse needs the cost.

I need you

Like birds need their wings.

I need you to fly.

Web 2.0

“Web 2.0” is a second generation of web expansion and design, that is intended to facilitate communication, secure information, sharing, and cooperation on the World Wide Web. As Tom O’ Reilly, the inventor of the World Wide Web said, the Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as a platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.

In a podcast interview, Tim Berners-Lee, English computer scientist said, “Nobody really knows what Web 2.0 means... If Web 2.0 for you is blogs and wikis, then that is people to people. But that was what the Web was supposed to be all along.”

These are some of the benefits of Web 2.0:

· Web 2.0 provides a web platform that is highly functional in obtaining and implementing sales strategies.

· Web 2.0 development enables better use of the core enterprise application.

· You can make use of semantic tagging technology that can raise the navigation of internal and external web pages, thereby leading to increased sales of products/services.

· For greater employee satisfaction and collaboration within the organization web 2.0 can be utilized to its best, creating waves of networking achievement stories.

· It very well targets the marketing resources, hastens the product development life cycle, and gives apt feedback of the new products.

· Web 2.0 uses its users and bloggers for establishing a positive image and creating positive publicity among the masses.

· It makes the Internet marketing a compulsory process so that your marketing budget is used to its best.

· It improves the quality of social interaction for anyone across the globe. Here, views, experiences, recipes, thoughts, comments, etc are easily exchanged.

· You can post photos, guest books, albums, how-to guides, etc. Also maps for planning traveling that are interactive in nature.

Even though Web 2.0 has many disadvantages and backsides, they are not discussed about in the media very often. But, one of the key problems with Web 2.0 is reliance; also, you can become heavily dependent on the Internet. Because nowadays many web services are offered for free, they are not secure and safe, and they could easily be targeted by hackers.

These are some of the most popular Web 2.0 tools:

1. Facebook

2. Blogger

3. Wordpress

4. MySpace

5. YouTube

6. Del.icio.us

7. Digg

8. Furl

9. Twitter

10. Flickr

11. Firefox

12. Gmail

13. Google

14. Google docs

15. Google reader

16. Picasa

17. Skype

18. Stumble

19. Metacafe
