Evaluation of my multimedia poem

My poem, “I Need You” was about a shy, broken-hearted and lonely girl who is in love, but the feeling is not mutual.

Since the poem is, in a way, pathetic, I wanted to do something that nobody else would do. So, I added two videos from the movie “300: Battle of Thermopylae” (when king Leonidas screams “This is Sparta”), because it has absolutely nothing to do with my poem. Also, my idea was to leave the audience speechless, no matter if it is in a positive or negative way.

I had used only one transition, “fade”, throughout the whole presentation, because I wanted to exaggerate in anyway.

For all of the slides, I used one video effect, which was “film age, old”, except for the part when the movie “300: Battle of Thermopylae” starts.

I approximately used two lines per slide, and put the text either in black or white color. I think it was very readable and visible.

I used Titanic theme song (My Heart Will Go On), but instrumental. I was considering the option of using the instrumental song, called More Than Words preformed by Extreme. I am still not sure why I used Titanic song. ;-)

My poem started with the video of “DreamWorks animation”, and then gets interrupted by the “snow”, and switches to the old Serbian television channel, called “RTS”, thus I also filmed my voice saying RTS vam predstavlja Meu Micovic (which means RTS presents Mea Micovic).

After that, my poem starts. I tried to, rather, use videos than pictures, because I considered it more entertaining and attention-grabbing when using videos, motion pictures.

Overall, I am satisfied by the way my multimedia poem looked, and the only thing that actually bothered me was the fact that the “snow (bad channel)” was to loud, so people were literally jumping off the chairs when that part came (which I found amusing, but I am not so sure what the audience would say). :-P

Because I wanted to make my multimedia poem even goofier, at the end I put the ending of Warner Bro’s cartoons, when the pig says “That’s all folks”.
